Renewing your certificate

Each certificate lasts a year. Renew it twice from your CPE transcript for a 3-year credential.

How long certificates last

Each certificate is valid for one year. You can renew it twice, so one exam pass gives you a 3-year credential. After the second renewal expires, you retake the exam.

When you can renew

The renewal window opens 60 days before your certificate expires and stays open until 30 days after. You get an email when your window opens. Renewing early costs you nothing: the new certificate expires one year after your old expiry date, not one year after the day you renew.

Who qualifies

You need either:

  • 290 or more days of Club membership in the last 3 years, or
  • 30 approved CPE hours in the last 12 months.

Your first renewal has no CPE requirement.

Active members get 4 CPE a month automatically, so most members qualify through membership alone. See Earning and logging CPE.

How to renew

  1. Open your CPE transcript (or View CPE progress & renewal status on your certificate card).
  2. Find Renew your certificate. It shows your window, how many renewals you have left, and whether you qualify.
  3. Click Renew. Your new certificate is issued straight away and appears on your dashboard.

What happens to your old certificate and link

Your old certificate stays valid until its own expiry date, and its verification page links forward to the renewed one, so links you have already shared keep working.

The renew button is not available

The panel tells you why. Usually it is one of:

  • Your window is not open yet. It opens 60 days before expiry.
  • You do not qualify yet. Log CPE or check your membership is active.
  • You have used both renewals. Retake the exam for a new certificate.
